It's NBA Draft season, and the Milwaukee Bucks have now officially started working out prospects. Per HoopsHype's workout tracker, Michigan State's Jeremy Fears is the first name they've worked out leading up to the festivities. With plenty of questions at the point guard spot, it makes sense to eye a potential option in Fears.

Fears would make sense for Bucks

There are no clear answers for the Milwaukee Bucks backcourt rotation. Ryan Rollins will be in town next season, but Kevin Porter Jr. is set to hit free agency, while the team largely operated without a backup down the stretch this past season. With plenty of vacancies, it would be justified if the Bucks grabbed someone like Jeremy Fears to beef up the rotation.

Fears, who spent all three years of his collegiate career at Michigan State, blosommed into a stellar rotational piece this past season. In 35 games, he averaged 15.2 points and 9.4 assists per contest, which was quite the leap compared to the 7.2 points and 5.4 assists from the year before. As these numbers suggest, Fears is a great scorer and passer, capable of leading the charge offensively.

Two significant drawbacks with the guard include his height and lack of shooting. At 6-foot-2, he is undersized and could struggle to defend at the NBA level. In today's game, small guards get picked on mightily and have to back it up with elite offense. As for his shooting, Fears buried just 32 percent of his collegiate triple tries, far from ideal.

Still, as a reserve ball-handler, the upside is there for a team like the Milwaukee Bucks.

Bucks likely won't draft Fears, unless...

Fears is listed as the 60th ranked prospect on HoopsHype's tracker. Considering that the Bucks only have the 10th overall pick in this draft, it feels safe to say that they won't be drafting him there. Yet, is there a world where they trade into the second round and grab him? Per ESPN's Jeremy Woo, rival teams say the Bucks have been operating like they will make more than one selection in the draft.

Sure, that might largely be due to Giannis Antetokounmpo's future and the Bucks getting another pick from that, but it could also mean trading into the second round.

Most likely, the Milwaukee Bucks would likely want to get Fears out of the undrafted pool. Bringing in the guard for Summer League and training camp would give them an opportunity to evaluate him and then make a decision on his future. With all of the questions at point guard, it would make sense for the Bucks to eye as many point guards as possible.
