In his first year with the Milwaukee Bucks, Taurean Prince has had to adopt to a lineup that has gone through plenty of changes.
Currently, he finds himself starting at the two guard, a position he hasn't played too much in his career to date. However, rather than be disgruntled or ask for any lineup changes, Prince has fully embraced whatever role he's given. Along the way, he's come up big for the Milwaukee Bucks lately, especially in their most recent win over the Indiana Pacers.
Taurean Prince gives the Milwaukee Bucks a lift against Indiana Pacers
Prince stuffed the stat sheet in this one, so it's tough to pick a spot to begin.
Let's start with the career-high, which came in the steals department. Prince logged five of them, and he did it by simply staying active on defense. Whenever the Pacers tried a long pass, Prince was there to sniff it out and change the momentum. In addition to that, he played some solid individual defense as he continues to earn assignments out of his usual wheelhouse position-wise.
Scoring-wise, Prince gave the Bucks a shot in the arm with 14 points, courtesy of a 4-of-6, including 2-of-4 from deep, shooting night. He also went 4-of-4 from the line. The wing hit one of the game's biggest shots, sinking a 3-pointer with just under two minutes to play to snap an offensive drought the Milwaukee Bucks had been in to put them up by nine. His 3-point shooting remains lethal.
Yet, Prince wasn't done quite yet. Immediately after the triple, he was credited for a block on the other end by knocking away Pascal Siakam's shot. He immediately dove on the loose ball and forced a jump ball at center court. Elsewhere, Prince logged three rebounds and an assist to cap off his all-around impressive night for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Whether it was with his offense, his defense or his knack for hustle plays, Taurean Prince helped close this game and make sure the Milwaukee Bucks got back at the Pacers. With a final score of 126-119, the Bucks secured the regular season series against Indiana, a crucial objective with how close these two teams currently are in the NBA's Eastern Conference standings.
The Bucks looked much better in this game than they did in their last meeting with Indiana, and they will need to keep this momentum going down the stretch.
