Workouts ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft are underway, and plenty of Milwaukee Bucks fans are waiting to see if the team works out Wisconsin wing John Tonje. So far, according to HoopsHype's pre-draft workout tracker, the Sacramento Kings are the only team with Tonje on their list, and the Bucks would be wise to follow suit.

Bucks must get Tonje in for a workout after latest updates

The Milwaukee Bucks have plenty of questions on the wing heading into the offseason. AJ Green, Andre Jackson Jr., and Chris Livingston are all on non-guaranteed deals. Gary Trent Jr. will be an unrestricted free agent, and Kevin Porter Jr. will likely join him as numerous outlets report that he's set to decline his upcoming player option.

If Milwaukee doesn't foresee a future with any of those players, John Tonje stands as one of the more captivating names out there who could fill in. Many mock drafts have the Wisconsin wing predicted to land somewhere near 47th, which is where the Milwaukee Bucks will ultimately select. There is no shortage of reasons to like Tonje beyond just the Wisconsin connection.

During his final collegiate season, and his lone with the Badgers, Tonje burst onto the scene in a big way by averaging 19.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists while shooting 38.8 percent from deep. With numbers like that, there's potential for Tonje to come in and potentially give the Bucks a jolt in the scoring department if they were to lose Gary Trent Jr. or Kevin Porter Jr. this summer.

With six years of college experience, John Tonje isn't a raw product that needs time to develop like some of Milwaukee's other recent draft selections. Although he might not have as much long-term potential in tow, he may be ready to help from the jump due to his age and experience. That could help the Milwaukee Bucks a ton if they are aiming to fill key roster holes.

There would be no harm in getting Tonje in for a workout at the bare minimum. The Milwaukee Bucks are clearly casting a wide net based on some of their workouts already, so Tonje, a player who could fill a key need depending on how free agency goes, certainly wouldn't be a stretch. Plenty of Bucks and Badgers fans will keep tabs on the situation here.
