In a recent interview with Sport24, Giannis Antetokounmpo shared his philosophy on working out with other players. The Greek Freak made it clear that he doesn't like to link up and work out with players he will square off against on the basketball court during the season. Instead, he wants to hit the gym with past greats, and he signaled that Carmelo Anthony is next up on his list.

Just a few days later, Anthony has already responded to the offer, saying that he is ready to work with the two-time MVP on his 7 PM in Brooklyn podcast. The recent Hall of Fame inductee kept it nice and brief when responding to Giannis' request: "On some real s***, let's work." Now, all that's left is finding a time and place to get it done.

Giannis' list of legendary workout partners only grows

By following this philosophy of only working out with former players, Giannis has consistently found himself in the company of greatness over the years. He's worked out with Hakeem Olajuwon, Kevin Garnett, and Kobe Bryant, to name a few, picking their brains in an effort to steal some of their skills and incorporate them into his own. Now, he will try and do the same with Carmelo.

The obvious point of emphasis in the workout will be the jumper, especially in the mid-range spot. Giannis extended his game more than ever last season with an improved jumper, and sustaining it next season will be crucial. Speaking to one of the smoothest mid-range shooters in recent times would certainly be a great place to get advice from.

While not as bulky in stature, Anthony also utilized his strength and size like Antetokounmpo, even if it came in different ways. Of course, when talking about Carmelo Anthony, footwork is also essential, as he was a savant in this regard. These are all overlooked aspects of the game of basketball that the Greek Freak could look to improve even further, courtesy of a Hall of Famer.

How many all-time greats still playing today spend their summers working out with former players? Not too many. He is always on the hunt for more knowledge. It's a testament to Giannis's relentless drive to reach new heights.

With NBA training camp and the preseason just days away from beginning, Giannis and Carmelo likely won't have time to get this done before then, but it feels inevitable that it will happen at some point.
