Cormac Ryan, who had been playing G League basketball for most of the season, just did something with the Milwaukee Bucks that no other rookie has ever done. In just 11 games, Ryan became the first rookie ever to have shooting splits of 50/40/90 on at least 26 shot attempts. In fact, even if you raise the number to 100 or more field goal attempts, Ryan still sits alone at the mountaintop.

It didn't take long at all for Milwaukee's move to promote him to look genius.

Ryan has brought quality shot-making to this Bucks team

For Ryan, being promoted could have been just a nice feel-good moment. He finally made it to the big leagues. However, that was always just the start for him. Ryan didn't envision just getting to the NBA. Since his NBA dreams came to fruition, Ryan has seized the opportunity and proven that he's a player who can make things happen when given the chance.

In those 11 games, he averaged 14.3 points while shooting 53.2 percent from the floor, 45.8 percent from three, and 92.3 percent from the foul line. If you exclude his four March games, in which he was on the court for just 10 minutes per game, Ryan averaged 19.6 points while hitting 54 percent of his shot attempts, including 47.9 percent from deep, and 95.2 percent of his free throws. Sheesh.

From the outset, Ryan's greatest trait has been his shot-making. That much was apparent courtesy of an assortment of nice G League outings. His NBA play has been the perfect showcase of his versatile offensive style, with Ryan displaying his natural ability to sink jumpers and also attack the hoop with authority, making his next move unpredictable.

With all of this, he made history, and his story is far from finished.

Bucks keeping Cormac Ryan feels like a no-brainer

Ryan, who played this season on a two-way deal, should have a standard roster spot waiting for him in NBA Free Agency. Sure, some will say his numbers were inflated due to Milwaukee's lack of available bodies down the stretch, but still, the fact that he was able to make the jump from the G League to the NBA and not show any jitters was beyond commendable.

The wing looks like someone who could help this team on a larger scale next season. Wings who can put the ball in the hoop from all over the floor while also holding up defensively do not grow on trees. This one shouldn't take long to get done at all. He only played 11 games this season, but Ryan made his mark by achieving what no one else has ever done.
