In a recent exchange, he responded to a video of Heat point guard Davion Mitchell working out with Giannis in Greece by saying that others "don't want Dame to tell it". The meaning of his post is up for debate, but many fans are interpreting it as Lillard hinting that Giannis himself did not want to work out with him prior to his Milwaukee arrival in 2023.
Dame's Bucks stint could have been doomed from the beginning
The Bucks might be in full rebuild mode now, but it wasn't very long ago that they had championship aspirations with Dame and Giannis. There's a few reasons that pair never achieved their expected levels of success, including injuries, but a lack of chemistry between the two often stood out. The failures of that era have often been chocked up to bad injury luck, an aging core and poor coaching. Sure, the front office had its own shortcomings by not bringing in strong young talent, and Doc Rivers did little to help as the head coach. But Lillard is now giving fans reason to point their fingers at yet another possible culprit: Giannis himself.
