Giannis already keeping his word on key part of Bucks future

That thing he said about attracting stars to Milwaukee? Apparently, he's already recruiting.

Remember when, shortly after the trade deadline, Giannis Antetokounmpo posted a clip from The Wolf of Wall Street, the scene where the protagonist declares he'll never leave the company? To caption the video, Giannis wrote, "Legends don't chase. They attract."

True to his word, it appears he's already recruiting fellow stars to join the Milwaukee Bucks. That's according to an Instagram post from Suns All-Star Devin Booker. In the video, a hoodie-clad Greek Freak is chatting up Booker while he takes shots on a practice court.

"You make everything look cool, man, but you wear a different jersey than me. You could wear the same jersey as me, I'm like Isaiah Stewart. I'll fight for you."

Antetokounmpo is nosing around for his next Bucks co-star

Booker laughingly brushes him off, but considers the message delivered. Capricious or not, Giannis wasted no time testing his magnetic effect on top talent in the NBA cosmos.

Obviously, a player like Booker would be a seismic addition. Even in a down shooting year disrupted by injury, the five-time All-Star is averaging 24.7 points and 6.1 assists per game. When healthy, he is the leader of the Suns' offense. Giannis already has recent experience playing with a superstar guard in Damian Lillard. Naturally, pairing up with Booker has to be a tantalizing concept.

Antetokounmpo, however, may have to take his overtures elsewhere, despite the tempting offer to replicate Stewart's bodyguard services in Detroit. Drafted by Phoenix 13th overall in 2015, Booker just signed a two-year, $133 million extension last summer that will keep him under contract at least through 2029, and a year longer if he picks up his player option.

Like Giannis, he has repeatedly reaffirmed his commitment to the organization. While drama swirled around Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant last season, Booker doubled down on his identity as the homegrown face of the franchise.

Giannis knows all this. He is nothing if not something of a troll. But even a playful gesture, posted by Booker in like spirit, suggests to fans that he is serious about going for gold in Milwaukee. Maybe Booker is off the table, but what stars might be interested in relocating this summer, when the Bucks will have three tradeable first-rounders?

The flip side of that storyline, of course, is the trade drama that will inevitably reignite around Antetokounmpo himself, particularly if the season ends in disappointment.

As ever, he remains open to the possibility of changing circumstances. In attitude, however, he appears excited to keep winning in Milwaukee. If Booker's social media post reveals anything, the Greek Freak is already using his gravity to try to pull another star into his orbit.
