May 10 will be a crucial day for every team involved in the NBA Draft Lottery. Depending on where the balls fall, someone's odds of acquiring Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will increase by a good amount. A favorable bounce for an interested suitor, meaning they would get a higher pick in this upcoming draft, could make them the frontrunner for the Greek Freak.

Teams will have their fingers crossed for a higher pick

This draft class is loaded. Some are calling it the best they've seen in a long time. Even beyond the star-studded top three of A.J. Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer, almost every pick mocked in the first round looks like they have immense potential. Someone landing in the top 10 or even potentially in the top five could give them a desirable asset to offer the Milwaukee Bucks.

Immediately, two suitors who come to mind are the Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat. Both were linked heavily to Giannis leading up to the NBA Trade Deadline, but the Bucks deemed both packages inadequate. If one of them were to land a desirable pick and put it on the table, Milwaukee would listen far more closely to any potential offer.

Yet, luck will be imperative for both, as the Warriors are currently projected to select 11th, while the Heat are down at 13th after their Play-In loss recently.

Outside of those two, another team lurking in the shadows is Brooklyn. The Nets have had an interest in Giannis for quite some time and will certainly put in a call this summer. Yet, despite an array of draft picks, their offer is mediocre. If they get lucky, which is possible, given their 20-62 record, it could be something that gets Milwaukee's attention.

Bucks were always right to wait until summer to talk Giannis deals

While the Milwaukee Bucks fielded Giannis trade offers at the deadline mid-season, they held off and decided they would talk more in the summer. External parties were upset, but on Milwaukee's side of things, it was justifiable. Had they done a deal then, they would have had no idea where the lottery balls would fall. Now, they can evaluate the best package knowing where the 2026 picks will fall.

Now, a favorable pick alone won't be enough to seal a Giannis deal. The Milwaukee Bucks will need more than just one pick, even in this generational class, to trade away their franchise icon. Yet, for teams that some feel might be neck and neck in the Giannis race, such as Golden State and Miami, perhaps a favorable selection could sway Milwaukee one way or the other.
