After initially cutting him to trim the roster, the Milwaukee Bucks have re-signed Pete Nance on a new two-way contract to keep him in town. Milwaukee's 18-man roster is now set for the time being, and it includes three very talented two-way players in Nance, Cormac Ryan, and Kam Jones. While none of them might be in the opening night rotation, they are quality depth pieces worth keeping around.

Bucks have three talented players here

While some teams utilize two-way contracts, which are typically used on fringe roster players to allow them to split time between the NBA and the G League, on young players with potential, the Milwaukee Bucks have gone in another direction. They've decided to use their spots on more polished players to give them adequate depth. For a team that wants to win, it's not a bad idea.

Nance gives Milwaukee some needed frontcourt depth. While the team has Kyle Kuzma, Myles Turner, Kel'el Ware, and Jericho Sims on the payroll, all it takes is one injury, illness, trade, or absence to have them scrambling for options. With Nance, a talented and versatile big man who has clearly made a good impression on the Bucks, the team can sleep a little easier.

Milwaukee's overcrowded backcourt has been discussed throughout the offseason. Even after the shocking dismissal of Kevin Porter Jr. on Monday, Ryan and Jones won't be featured in the rotation on opening night. Yet, both are experienced guards due to their extended stays in college and would be ready to go if they are needed for anything.

That type of depth is precious, especially for a Milwaukee Bucks team that knows how it feels to be bitten by the injury bug. While none of the three may have much NBA experience, all of them spent at least four years in college, giving them more time to polish their game before entering the big leagues. That could be a huge plus if the Bucks call on them.

The goal is clear for all three players

The Milwaukee Bucks have not been shy about promoting internal talent over the years. Ryan Rollins and AJ Green both went from being two-way players to standard contributors, and all three of these players will aim to do the same. For them to do so, they must embrace whatever is asked of them and put their best foot forward.

Some days, that might require heading to Oshkosh to suit up for the Wisconsin Herd. Others, maybe the Milwaukee Bucks need an extra body. Whatever challenge the day brings, these three must be up for the task as they aim to become a long-term piece of the puzzle in Milwaukee. All three players have shown flashes at this level, and they must build upon them.
