With rumors swirling around the NBA that the Chicago Bulls could start trading away key components of their roster, many Milwaukee Bucks fans want to see the team get involved.
The target everyone has their eyes on is Alex Caruso, the All-Defensive guard who is on a relatively affordable contract. He'd be a tremendous addition to Milwaukee's perimeter defense, giving them a player who can defend multiple positions at a high level. Yet, the major roadblock that could prevent the Bucks from getting him would be Chicago's asking price, as they could ask for a king's ransom.
Looking around for potential trade packages, "thebuckszone" on Instagram shared a trade that would see the Bucks land Caruso and Kenrich Williams, the OKC Thunder get Patrick Williams, and the Bulls get MarJon Beauchamp, Bobby Portis, and a first round pick in 2025 via OKC or Miami. Portis must have seen the trade while scrolling through Instagram, as he gave his thoughts.
Bobby Portis chimes in on three-team trade proposal
"Lol" was all Portis had to say at first. He followed that up in a separate comment with "Then throw bra in my number," followed by three laughing emojis, referencing the photoshop of Caruso wearing Portis' No. 9 on the post. It's safe to say that Portis was not a fan of the proposal, and he wasn't alone, as a lot of Bucks fans were right there with him.
This would certainly be a controversial trade for the Bucks, given that Portis is a key cog for what this team does, while Beauchamp is one of the team's few young pieces and has shown glimpses of some legitimate two-way potential. Although getting a tremendous perimeter defender would make sense, there are Bucks fans who think this would be too much to give up.
For now, the Bucks are not likely too focused on trades. Though General Manager Jon Horst will keep his eye on things around the league, perhaps even Caruso's availability, he likely wants to see how the team's current roster performs for the time being, and understandably so.
