2. MarJon Beauchamp

One of the biggest question marks this season revolves around the 24th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, MarJon Beauchamp. He's in a similar position to Pat Connaughton in that logjam of players who are battling for minutes at the shooting guard or small forward position.

He had a promising rookie season, with many fans and those in the media feeling there were big things to come from Beauchamp as he averaged 5.1 points on splits of .395/.331/.730. In 2023-24, he struggled to really progress in the lineup and hold down a regular spot in the rotation.

Beauchamp averaged 4.4 points on good splits of .488/.400/.679 with a minute less on the court. The playoffs only saw him average 2.5 minutes in four of the six games against the Indiana Pacers, so Rivers clearly didn't trust him enough to make him a bigger part of an injured roster.

Again, defensively, Beauchamp was not good when on the court, with his defensive rating rising over four points to 117.7, but the Milwaukee Bucks players as a whole were up across the board due to the shocking defensive scheme under Griffin. One of the best ways to force yourself into a lineup is with defense and hustle, and we have seen glimpses of that from Beauchamp.

Rivers took over the Bucks in January and led 36 games from the January 29 onward. Beauchamp featured in just 13 of those games and averaged 5.2 minutes. It is clear that Rivers favored veteran players, but we have seen Jackson perhaps move ahead of Beauchamp in the depth chart, and that creates a big problem for Beauchamp.

In this training camp, he needs to force himself back into the plans of Rivers, and as a 23-year-old with two years left on his deal, he could be a player the Bucks trade to get a win-now piece.

It will be interesting to see what the Milwaukee Bucks plan to do at the shooting guard and small forward position. For Beauchamp, he needs to drastically increase his stock in this training camp as he is seemingly massively out of favor with Rivers.
