The Milwaukee Bucks have made a handful of moves this offseason, and one of the more impactful will be the addition of veteran forward Taurean Prince.

Milwaukee scooped up Prince on a minimum deal, a steal for a player of his caliber, and it's not just the fans who are excited about his arrival. On a recent episode of 'Run Your Race' from Tidal League, Prince talked about his excitement to join the Bucks, saying all of the right things to make a strong first impression on everyone.

"Man, I'm super excited. I'm really just looking forward to asserting my authority defensively like always, trying to fly around and be that guy that make plays. Obviously, I kept my promise that I had said before last season, shooting 40 percent from three, so I'm just trying to get better in that area, hopefully go to 41, 42 and just bring that efficiency, lack of insecurity at that spot, backing up Khris [Middleton]... It's gon' be fun. Yeah, it's gon' be fun."

Milwaukee Bucks fans should be excited about Taurean Prince

Prince couldn't have said too much else to get on the good side of Milwaukee Bucks fans everywhere. Given how much the Bucks were hurt by a lack of reliable perimeter defenders last year, Prince going into detail about the impact he wants to have on that end should have fans elated. The team needed more players who take pride on that side of things, and Prince clearly does.

Another interesting note is that Prince already knows his role in Milwaukee. After starting in 49 games for the Los Angeles Lakers last season, he could have very well wanted that fifth starting spot for the Bucks, but his comments highlight how he understands that backing up Khris Middleton will be his primary duty. Having selfless players like that is an added bonus.

Due to everything Prince described in his comments, he'll be a crucial second-unit cog for the team this coming season. The defense, shooting and intensity he brings off the bench will make him a key piece for head coach Doc Rivers. He fits seamlessly with Milwaukee's other stars, so he'll be used in no shortage of lineup combinations.

If all goes well, Taurean Prince could end up being one of the better signings the Milwaukee Bucks have made in recent memory. Alongside Gary Trent Jr. and Delon Wright, Prince rounds out a new trio of Bucks that should make this team much more formidable in 2024-25, as they all patch prominent roster holes.
