Bucks television broadcasting could undergo sizeable change soon

For years now, Bally Sports Wisconsin has been the primary way to watch the Milwaukee Bucks play when they are not nationally televised.

In today's day and age, cable is slowly becoming a thing of the past, while streaming is becoming all the rage. This latest news only confirms it. The New York Post's Josh Kosman reports that Amazon is nearing a deal to stream certain MLB, NHL and MLB games. If the deal goes through, all Bucks games that are not nationally televised will be available through Amazon.

Bucks fans, get your Amazon accounts ready

According to the report, fans may pay around $20 monthly to gain access to their team's local games through this service, but the contests will also still be broadcasted through the Bally network like they have been for the past few years. In short, it's a large win for Milwaukee Bucks fans without cable who still want to catch the games that will not be on national television, such as on ABC, ESPN and TNT.

The Milwaukee Bucks will have ten nationally televised games this coming season, including their season-opener against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 23, which will air on ESPN. They will have the tenth most nationally televised games in the entire NBA for 2024-25. That means fans would be able to catch 72 games through Bally or this new service through Amazon.

Diamond Sports, the company that owns the Bally brand, has filed for bankruptcy recently, which had NBA fans on edge as to where they might be able to watch their favorite team play. It appears that Amazon may lend a helping hand, as the report from Kosman suggests that Diamond Sports thinks this investment may be able to pull it out of bankruptcy by November. Time will tell.
