Milwaukee has started to find its groove with Doc Rivers as its interim head coach, winning two of its last three games. The Bucks blew out Charlotte (120-84) and Denver (112-95) at home before falling Tuesday to the Miami Heat. Milwaukee is a double-digit road favorite Thursday night in Memphis. Can they win with margin before the All-Star break?

The Grizzlies snapped a nine-game losing streak on Wednesday with a 121-113 win over the Houston Rockets. Should you back Memphis as a big home underdog?

Here’s the betting preview for Thursday’s cross-conference clash with a best bet.

Bucks vs. Grizzlies key players to watch

Bucks

Bobby Portis: The 6-foot-10 forward is averaging 12.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game off the Milwaukee bench. The former first-round pick has scored in double figures in six of seven games this month (averaging 14.7 points per game) and poured in 16 off the bench on 6-of-12 shooting in Tuesday’s loss to Miami.

Grizzlies

GG Jackson: The rookie second-round pick is averaging 10.6 points per game but has been one rebound shy of a double-double twice over the last three games. Jackson had 20 points and 9 rebounds in Wednesday’s win over Houston and is averaging 15.4 points per game in February. He’s shot 50% or better from the field in four consecutive contests.

Bucks vs. Grizzlies prediction and pick

Two teams that have struggled in this spot this season will face off as Milwaukee is just 8-12 ATS as a road favorite and the Grizzlies are only 8-10 ATS as a home underdog.

The Bucks’ injury report looks promising with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard probable to play in a game Milwaukee can’t overlook after falling two games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Milwaukee is No. 17 in the NBA in defensive rating and has bounced back after holding Denver and Charlotte to under 100 points. Milwaukee may have had a setback in losing to the Heat, but they have a dream matchup against a Memphis offense that is last in overall rating and scoring (107 points per game).

Milwaukee’s is the No. 1 scoring offense in the NBA on the road, pouring in 120.8 points per game. Despite the 10th-rated defense, Memphis is 20th in the NBA in defensive rebounding and its struggling offense doesn’t help the other side of the ball as the Grizzlies are 25th in the league in allowing points off turnovers. Milwaukee should pull away - lay the points.
