The 2023-24 Milwaukee Bucks didn't work out for numerous reasons, but one of the main ones was due to a lack of roster cohesion, primarily among the stars.

With the Damian Lillard trade happening days before camp, Khris Middleton banged up throughout the regular season and Giannis Antetokounmpo injured for the playoffs, it was tough for these three to build chemistry. As soon as the season ended, many were hopeful that the stars would plan some sort of meet-up to build chemistry over the summer. That didn't happen.

Chemistry is still a question mark for the Milwaukee Bucks

During Milwaukee Bucks Media Day, Damian Lillard revealed that he and Giannis Antetokounmpo did not meet up over the offseason. The Greek Freak was a very busy man, participating in the Olympics for Greece and then getting married a few weeks ago. Lillard revealed that he had intended to go to Greece to meet up with his running mate, but things did not work out for the two sides.

To ease concerns, Lillard added that while they didn't get together over the summer, Lillard does feel more on the same page with Antetokounmpo than in the past. They were in contact with one another during the summer. Of course, nothing beats actually getting on the basketball court together, which they will now be able to do with training camp underway.

The Big 3 as a whole is still a work in progress on the chemistry front, as Khris Middleton will not be a full participant in camp as he works his way back from duel offseason ankle surgeries. While he works his way back to full strength, Antetokounmpo and Lillard will be building camaraderie with one another on the court in camp, which is a positive, at least.

Doc Rivers revealed that the Milwaukee Bucks will be traveling for training camp this year in an effort to bring the team closer on the road. After not seeing one another over the summer, hopefully these two stick awfully close to one another to make up for lost time. Camp isn't overly long these days, but they will have a chance to earn game reps in the preseason soon after.

While they did not meet up, Milwaukee's top two stars appear to be in excellent shape. Giannis has bounced back from his late-season injury, and Lillard has been relieved to actually work out full throttle this offseason after having to hold back last offseason due to his trade request. That alone should set them up nicely with training camp starting.
