7 Potential free agent targets for Bucks with ties to Damian Lillard

Circling back to the backup point guard position, this writer has not been shy about making it known that Kris Dunn should be on Milwaukee's radar. Dunn's time with Lillard was short, as he appeared in just 14 games with the Trail Blazers during the 2021-22 NBA season.

If the Bucks lose Beverley, Dunn could slide right into his role, providing excellent perimeter defense while taking on the difficult assignments at the guard position. When Lillard is off the floor, the guard could also come in and handle the basketball offensively, creating plays for himself or others. Having just turned 30, he's also still fairly young and has plenty left in the tank basketball-wise.

The big question ahead of free agency is what kind of deal will Dunn seek. Despite his strong showing in 2023-24, he won't be among the top free agents on the market, but someone could very easily give him an offer greater than Milwaukee's if they see the potential. If he's willing to take a minimum deal, the Milwaukee Bucks shouldn't hesitate to bring him aboard, as he could help this basketball team.

Dunn could possibly end up being a hidden gem like the Dallas Mavericks got with Derrick Jones Jr. this past season. Finding an under-the-radar player like that will be crucial for Milwaukee.
