The Bucks' POV
At this point, the Milwaukee Bucks should be poking around every wing or perimeter defender on the entire trade market, so Craig and Carter are justifiable targets in that regard.
Carter played his best basketball ever with the Bucks, providing strong perimeter defense while also shooting the lights out from three. Though he's coming off a down year with the Bulls, perhaps the idea of reuniting with several old faces who helped fuel his prior success could help get him back on the right track.
The guard could instantly fill Milwaukee's backup point guard vacancy, with Delon Wright being one of the several players who could earn the starting two-guard spot. Carter could provide his trademark intensity on defense, picking up opposing guards the full length of the floor while providing decent floor spacing and ball-handling ability off the bench.
As for Craig, he's a good enough veteran 3-and-D wing. Alongside Taurean Prince, one of the team's free agent signings, Craig could serve as a versatile chess piece capable of slotting in either forward slot and defending players with his height and length. Another 6-foot-7 forward could do this team plenty of good if their goal is to get more versatile with their lineup combinations this coming season.
It's not too far-fetched to think that these two could help the Bucks more than Connaughton, who just hasn't looked like himself over the past two seasons.
