Grade the trade: Bucks add Alec Burks at the trade deadline

This trade is unlikely to happen. Milwaukee won't give up two second-round picks for Alec Burks, nor will they give up a player they are still high on in Pat Connaughton for him.

Burks is a good player and knockdown shooter, but Jon Horst has shifted his focus over the past few years from acquiring knockdown shooters to players who are defense-first guys, which is exactly what they need right now.

The Pistons also only have six wins this year. How many players should Jon Horst go after? Burks is a good depth piece for a team, but he's not a missing piece for a championship-contending team.

Milwaukee has better options they are linked to, such as Royce O' 'Neale, Matisse Thybulle, or Dejounte Murray. Those three would be better fits for Milwaukee at the trade deadline ahead of Burks, who is more known as a scorer, due to their defense.

Those three players are similar in terms of playing elite defense. Burks isn't a bad defender, but Milwaukee's roster is filled with average defenders. Jon Horst should target an elite defender at the deadline.

BTBP Final Grade: D
