The return of Milwaukee Bucks basketball is inching closer with each passing day.
Before the festivities officially begin on October 23, when the Bucks travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers in their 2024-25 opener, they must go through training camp and preseason. With that said, let us analyze when exactly all of that will be going down.
Milwaukee Bucks training camp and preseason schedule
For teams participating in preseason games outside of North America, training camp opens Sept. 27. However, the Milwaukee Bucks do not fall into that bracket, so they will begin on October 3. They are still putting together their training camp roster, so it will be interesting to see what faces they bring in over the next few weeks.
Three days after that, they kick off their preseason showcase in Detroit against the Pistons on Oct. 6. Then they have back-to-back home games, one against the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 10 and then versus the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 14. To conclude, they visit the defending Western Conference Champion Dallas Mavericks on Oct. 17.
There are plenty of questions for the Milwaukee Bucks leading up to camp. How will Khris Middleton look after off-season surgery on both ankles if he plays? Will Giannis Antetokounmpo be fatigued from his run with Greece at the Olympics? How good of shape is Damian Lillard in after actually being able to hit the gym this offseason knowing he wouldn't be traded? All will be answered in time.
At this time, the two big injury question marks are Khris Middleton, who underwent ankle surgeries as mentioned previously, and Andre Jackson Jr., who went under the knife for a finger injury he suffered in the Summer League. All signs point to them being ready, but their workload throughout camp and the preseason is ultimately yet to be determined.
It would certainly be nice to see the Milwaukee Bucks roll into the new season with all hands on deck and everyone fully healthy, but only time will tell. Thankfully, they still have quite a while to get healthy.
