8. CP3 joins the Bucks
Chris Paul was linked to the Bucks several times in recent years. The future Hall of Famer reportedly wanted to be traded to Milwaukee back in 2019 when he went from Houston to Oklahoma City. The rumors have popped up every time CP3 has been in talks of moving since.
Paul surprisingly led the Thunder to the playoffs in 2020 and was second-team All-NBA. He spent the next three years in Phoenix where he made two more All-NBA appearances and guided the Suns to the NBA Finals in 2021. CP3 was in his mid-30s, but he had plenty left in the tank to help the Bucks for several seasons.
Acquiring Paul likely means the Bucks never trade for Jrue Holiday. Does CP3 have a championship if he spent multiple years partnering with Giannis Antetokounmpo in the 414? It is the only thing missing from Paul’s incredible resume. The future Hall of Famer has been close and this partnership may have changed the course of NBA history.
Chris Paul might have been the best point guard in Milwaukee Bucks history. How does he change things? It is impossible to know, especially with interest over multiple years, but it is fun to think about how devastating the CP3 and Giannis duo would have been in Milwaukee.
