If the Milwaukee Bucks want to make it back to the NBA Finals this coming season, they will likely run into the Boston Celtics at some point.

After winning last season's NBA Championship, the Celtics have established themselves as the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. As the Bucks aim to dethrone them, the newly added Delon Wright believes he can be of use due to what he brings to the table. Here is what he had to say when talking about his skills, particularly on the defensive end, at Milwaukee Bucks Media Day.

Delon Wright explains how he can help the Milwaukee Bucks

“Just to talk about the Celtics team, I do a good job of guarding all four of those guards: Tatum, Brown, Holiday, and White. I feel like for the most part, they try to pick on matchups, so with me being able to switch one-through-four with them, sometimes against Al Horford, switching on him when he's on the perimeter, I feel like it just adds to what I can bring to the team."

While it was only four games, Wright does have recent playoff experience going against the Celtics, as he played them in the first round this past season as a member of the Miami Heat. With Miami hit with injuries, Wright saw an increased role and played very well. That experience can help as he aims to beat them as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Delon Wright won't be the ultimate difference-maker in a matchup against the Celtics, but he can be of great use. As he described, his versatility and ability to switch between different matchups will be essential, given how much offensive talent this Bosotn team has. A lack of players capable of doing so was one of the reasons for Milwaukee's downfall against them in 2022.

The Bucks truly haven't had a guard like Wright before. At 6-foot-5 with a 6-foot-7.5 wingspan, he's a lengthy player who can play both guard positions and defend countless others. Over these past few years, the Bucks have primarily used undersized point guards who were picked on defensively, so a player like Delon Wright will be a nice change of pace in that regard.

In addition to Wright, fellow newcomer Taurean Prince should also help Milwaukee quite a bit versus teams like Boston due to his ability to guard multiple positions. While Wright is primarily working on the guards, Prince can tackle the forwards, such as Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. The Bucks are thrilled to have these two for difficult matchups like the Celtics.

The Milwaukee Bucks didn't crack the code that is the Boston Celtics, but having two versatile pieces like Wright and Prince will certainly help them if they run into this formidable foe on the big stage.
