Philadelphia 76ers
The Milwaukee Bucks began the 2023-24 season by taking on the Philadelphia 76ers, and that game didn't disappoint. Damian Lillard kicked off his Milwaukee tenure in a big way by scoring 39 points and leading his team to a one-point victory. The rest of the season wasn't quite as exciting, but Bucks fans couldn't have asked for a better season opener.
Opening the season against them once again could be a great way to get things going for both teams looking to bounce back from early playoff exits.
Philadelphia has gone through a rather impressive roster retooling this offseason, highlighted by the acquisition of Paul George. Yet, they've also added quality players like Caleb Martin, Reggie Jackson, Eric Gordon, Andre Drummond and Jared McCain to beef up their rotation mightly with a talented cast of strong veterans and younger pieces to complement Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
They could unquestionably make some noise this coming season and be a legitimate threat to the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics and everyone else in the Eastern Conference. Putting these two teams up against each other right away would be a great test for both sides. It would also put the 76ers up against their former head coach, Doc Rivers, adding fuel to this already tense matchup.
