5 Teams that could poach Malik Beasley from the Milwaukee Bucks in free agency
By Dalton Sell
The odds of Malik Beasley and the Milwaukee Bucks extending their partnership for another season are slim to none.
From the moment the guard inked a minimum deal in 2023, it was seen as a one-year stop. This gave the sweet-shooting guard an opportunity to showcase his talent on a contending team in an attempt to earn a bigger contract the following year. Now, after a strong showing in Milwaukee, teams will be lining up to lure the guard away from the Bucks.
That said, let us highlight five teams who could poach Malik Beasley in NBA Free Agency.
Golden State Warriors
The Athletic NBA insider Kelly Iko (Subscription required) reports that the Golden State Warriors are among the teams interested in Beasley. Golden State shouldn't be viewed as a massive threat to acquire Beasley, given that they won't be able to offer him a massive new deal, but there could be some intrigue there due to the possible opportunity.
Of course, there are questions about Klay Thompson's future this off-season. Though it seems likely that he will return to Golden State, if he feels like there is a better offer elsewhere, he could very well depart, as there are several teams with money to spend who may be willing to go all-out to acquire a player of his caliber.
Losing Thompson would be a blow to the culture in Golden State, but they'd also lose one of the best shooters in the business. They'd need a new perimeter threat to take his place, and Beasley could be a valid option. Alongside Steph Curry, he'd form a lethal shooting backcourt that could help this team remain strong on the perimeter offensively.
Even if they are not the likeliest suitor, tabs should be kept on the Warriors.
