Ranking the Milwaukee Bucks' biggest breakout candidates for 2024-25
By Aitor Darias
Despite their core being quite veteran-oriented, the Milwaukee Bucks have also assembled a pretty interesting young group.
The roster has six players under 25 years old (plus a pair of two-way players) willing to make a leap and earn a bigger role next season, something that would help the team get back into contention and fight for a ring. Yet, sadly for them, chances are that not all of them will be able to make that happen.
Because of that, we'll analyze which Milwaukee Bucks players have the biggest chance of having a breakout year and making some noise in the league this coming season, ranking the top three cases from worst to best.
Honorable mentions
Before getting to the top three, let's address two players who could be in the conversation but whose cases are not strong enough at this point.
The first one is MarJon Beauchamp, who could have made the top three before the Summer League. However, his poor performance in Las Vegas made it harder to believe in him. The potential is there, and at times, it's easy to see a world where he could be an important piece on both ends of the floor.
Yet, those great stretches are often overshadowed by questionable decisions and a possible lack of effort. Hopefully, we'll see his best version next season, but right now, Milwaukee Bucks fans can't be anything but doubtful about him.
The second candidate is Ryan Rollins, who hadn't really been able to show his game in a Bucks jersey before Summer League but became one of the most positive takeaways from the five-game slate.
As a two-way player, he will be down in the rotation and likely won't see the floor most nights, but if he's given the chance, he might have the tools to earn his spot on the team. He looked super solid in Las Vegas, doing a bit of everything on both ends of the court.
He seems like a player who will be ready if he's needed at some point. It might be hard for him to get some minutes, but if he does receive them at any point, it could be even harder for Doc Rivers to take those minutes away from him again.
