Taurean Prince

Speaking of free agent steals, the Milwaukee Bucks furthered their roster retooling this offseason by signing forward Taurean Prince. Milwaukee's front office, and likely associate head coach Darvin Ham, who coached Prince with the Los Angeles Lakers, must have made an incredibly impressive pitch to convince the 30-year-old to sign a one-year deal worth just under $3 million.

Like Wright, Prince brings more defense and versatility. Standing at 6-foot-6, Prince can play either forward position and provide strong resistance against a handful of positions defensively. A player like that is something the Milwaukee Bucks have been searching for over the past few seasons, so the forward will certainly be an important piece in the second unit.

Perhaps when Prince will be the most useful is when Milwaukee goes to its small lineups and places Giannis Antetokounmpo at center. Since P.J. Tucker's departure in 2021, they haven't had a forward capable of playing next to the Greek Freak to make those lineups click, but Prince certainly has the chops to be an adequate piece in that particular role.

Statistically, Prince put up respectable numbers in Los Angeles last year with 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 39.6 percent from the perimeter. Just like Wright, Prince is a player who can have a big game on any given night without stuffing the stat sheet, largely due to the defense he brings.

Again, versatility is key here, so Rivers will likely have the forward on the court quite often. Getting a player who could end up playing a significant role so cheap is a major win financially.
