Giannis Antetokounmpo
Can a player who's about to take home $48.8 million this season be underpaid? Well, considering it's Giannis Antetokounmpo and he has the 12th-highest salary across the NBA this coming season, the answer is yes.
There's an argument to be had that despite the turbulence the Bucks have endured over the past few years in terms of team success, Giannis is the best player the NBA has to offer right now. At the bare minimum, he's top three. Having him rank outside of the top five in 2024-25 salary would be a shock, let alone the top 10.
How important Giannis is needs little rehashing. He's arguably the best two-way player in the league, a two-time MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and NBA Finals MVP. He's also coming off a season in which he became the first player in history to average 30 points on 60 percent shooting. There's no one in the association like him. As long as he's on the floor, the Bucks have a chance to win.
Antetokounmpo being underpaid won't last for long. Once his $48.8 million deal expires at the end of next season, it jumps to $68.3 million the following year and $73 million the year after that. If he can be the driving force of another title or two in Milwaukee, he will be worth every penny and then some.
