Though he didn't play much throughout his rookie season with the Milwaukee Bucks, Chris Livingston flashed potential whenever he got on the court.
Entering the league at 6-foot-6, 220 pounds while boasting impressive athleticism, Livingston had an intriguing body type, which was certainly one of his more compelling attributes, allowing him to throw down dunks or play tough defense. As he braces for his sophomore year, Chris Livingston has gone through changes that could set him up for big things moving forward.
Per The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Jim Owczarski (subscription required), the young forward now stands at 6-foot-7.5, having grown a few inches between now and when he first got into the league. He was compelling already, but this sudden growth spurt certainly adds to that and makes him a more intriguing prospect heading into the 2024-25 NBA season.
The Bucks have an intriguing player on their hands in Livingston
While it'll be tough for the soon-to-be 21-year-old to carve out a role on this veteran-oriented team, Livingston checks off a lot of boxes for the Bucks. He has the athleticism this team needs, he can be of great use in spicing things up in transition, and his new frame could be very useful on the defensive side of the basketball court, an area where this team has struggled.
In time, the Milwaukee Bucks should aim to mold Chris Livingston into the big wing defender they've been hunting for since the departure of P.J. Tucker in 2021. He has the size and length to take on the tough matchups, especially after this growth spurt. At 20, he's still rather inexperienced, so he might not be ready for this responsibility yet, but the potential is there.
To extend their championship window, the Milwaukee Bucks need some of their young players to take on roles in their rotation at some point. Livingston is among the names in consideration, and if he can show growth during his second season, it could eventually help him leap into this rotation.
Chris Livingston is among the Bucks players with the most to gain entering training camp as he looks to make a name for himself this coming season. If the forward pans out, he could be one of the major steals for this franchise in recent memory, as he was the final pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
