The 2025 NBA Draft is quickly approaching, but the Milwaukee Bucks haven't worked out too many ranked prospects as they prepare to draft 47th. Could that foreshadow a trade out? Perhaps, but at the time of this writing, here is a look at the ranked prospects, based on HoopsHype's workout list, the team has been looking at based on their fit with the Bucks.
No. 5 - Mark Sears (Alabama)
Is Mark Sears a tremendous player? Absolutely. Does he fit what the Milwaukee Bucks need at guard? Not quite. At 6-foot-1, Sears is undersized at the position and could find himself targeted too often on the defensive end. In today's NBA, that's just not something teams can afford. Sears, a 16.7 points per game college scorer, could inject some scoring into the mix, but his defense looms large.
No. 4 - Hansen Yang (Qingdao)
Hansen Yang is one of the most captivating second-round prospects in this draft. He turned heads at the NBA Combine so much that he's likely to be off the board long before the Bucks pick. And that might be fine. While the towering Yang could help on the interior defensively, his lack of mobility may handcuff the Bucks into a less versatile style of defense that they cannot afford. Furthermore, he'd be another project who is just 19 years of age.
No. 3 - Izan Almansa (Perth Wildcats)
The Milwaukee Bucks could undergo a frontcourt makeover this summer, so Izan Almansa being on their workout list makes sense. The 6-foot-9 big man has shown potential overseas, flexing some needed versatility as a defender due to his high motor. However, at just 20 years old, Almansa is a raw prospect, and, again, the Bucks might not be able to afford another long-term project in this draft.
No. 2 - Max Shulga (VCU)
Max Shulga could certainly be worth a flyer as the Bucks fill out their point guard rotation. Standing at 6-foot-5, 206 lbs, Shulga has great size at the position, and while that didn't make him a lockdown defender in college, it helped him avoid getting picked on. Offensively, he can score and facilitate the ball very well, and his perimeter shooting is undeniable. He's got plenty of tools the Bucks should like.
No. 1 - Hunter Sallis (Wake Forest)
Of the bunch, Hunter Sallis is the clear-cut best fit with the Milwaukee Bucks. Not only does he have eye-popping athleticism this team should covet, but he averaged 18.1 points, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 steals per game this past season, showing that he can score, facilitate, and generate turnovers at a consistent rate. The Milwaukee Bucks need all of that in their question-filled backcourt.
