The rivalry between the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat was bound to reawaken after the massive Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, but no one saw this new update coming. Per ESPN's Shams Charania, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, who were Heat teammates before the blockbuster trade, got into a physical altercation in Las Vegas Friday morning. Oh, boy.

Milwaukee, Miami rivalry is heating up
In recent weeks, there were alleged direct messages in which Herro criticized Adebayo's play during their time together in Miami. Adebayo seemingly did not take too kindly to those rumored comments. At the time of this writing, there are little to no details about the incident, but Herro appeared to be in good spirits—and without any black eyes—during a television appearance in the afternoon.
Updates will follow as they flood in, so stay tuned for that.
This storyline will undoubtedly carry over into the NBA's regular season. Everyone was anxious to see these two teams clash before this incident. Now, it will be must-see television. Will these two go at it again, this time in front of the cameras? Will this incident fuel both players as they try to will their teams to victory? No one knows, but everyone wishes they were playing sooner than they are.
The Bucks-Heat rivalry is back on
For a few years, things were quiet between Milwaukee and Miami. With the two teams not meeting in the postseason following the 2023 upset, the rivalry died down. However, it's back on. This next piece of the story will be unlike any of the previous ones throughout this era of Milwaukee Bucks basketball.
Things really started when the Bucks and Heat met in the 2020 NBA Playoffs. Miami upset the Bucks, who were the top seed, and made the NBA Finals. A year later, Milwaukee bounced back with a series sweep en route to a Finals win. Soon after, they snagged P.J. Tucker from the Bucks. In 2023, the Heat once again upset top-seeded Milwaukee in the postseason.
The Milwaukee Bucks responded to that last upset by stealing Damian Lillard away from the Heat, who felt like the clear trade partner for the star guard from the jump.
Of course, they have now taken Milwaukee's franchise icon from them. That was set to be one of the biggest storylines surrounding the meetings between the teams next season, but now there is yet another major headline making the rounds.
