As the NBA Draft Combine begins in Chicago, which players should the Milwaukee Bucks be monitoring and who should they look to interview?

The Playoffs might only be approaching their business end, but for all 30 franchises there’s offseason work to be done as the NBA Draft Combine gets underway in Chicago.

Obviously, for the Milwaukee Bucks and the 13 other teams who are gearing up for next week’s draft lottery, the need is even greater, but as it is the Combine offers scouts and executives the chance to get an up close look at many of the names you can expect to hear called out on draft night.

Of course, value will be placed on the physicals, but in that regard the NBA Combine still doesn’t hold anywhere near the same significance as its NFL counterpart. Instead, one of the most important opportunities afforded to teams at the event is the ability to hold interviews with the prospects.

More from Bucks News

As outlined by Matt Velasquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel last week, the Bucks can interview up to 18 players over the course of the five days. The Bucks will submit a list of the players they wish to speak with and then it’s up to the players involved to decide whether they wish to oblige or not.

In this regard, the Bucks are in an interesting spot. As one of the more talented teams finding themselves in the lottery, the need for them to meet with some of the top five prospects may not be so pressing at this point.

That’s not just because it would take a stroke of good fortune in next week’s lottery for the Bucks to have the opportunity to take such a player, but also as if the chance did present itself, there’s a strong possibility that those players would be willing to talk to one of the better teams positioned to select them.

With that in mind, the best route for the Bucks to take may be to consider what they are looking for with their multiple picks (10, 36 and 38) and to reach out to those who will likely be an option for them to fill a need at that time.

Above you’ll find a list of the final 63 attendees for the Combine, but I’ve decided to narrow it down to a shortlist of 10 players who Milwaukee should push to meet with.

By no means definitive (and remember they’ll have the potential for a further eight interviews), this acts as just a quick snapshot at some of the players who I feel will be worth the Bucks consideration on draft night.

So, let’s get to the shortlist!
