The Milwaukee Bucks got their 2016 Summer League campaign underway with a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, and a stellar showing from draft picks Thon Maker and Malcolm Brogdon.

Summer League is here and Milwaukee Bucks basketball has given us something to smile about.

The Bucks got their play underway in Las Vegas with a commanding 81-75 win over the Cavaliers, having led for close to the entirety of the game.

Milwaukee’s team sealed a confidence boosting W, while picking up 2.5 points from their opening game. In the Vegas Summer League format, team’s are awarded points for every quarter won, and the Bucks came out on top in two and held the Cavs to a tie in the other.

Of course, the most exciting aspect of Summer League is always the chance to catch a first glimpse at the incoming rookie class. Often the hype that fans build up in their heads between draft night and Summer League can lead to disappointment when the youngsters take to the floor and reality sets in, but that was not the case for Milwaukee’s draft picks.

Both Thon Maker and Malcolm Brogdon were at the forefront of their team’s success in the Cox Pavilion on Friday evening, putting in performances that will leave Bucks fans excitedly anticipating their next action on Sunday.
