Welcome to Opposition Intel!
Although the Bucks looked strong against the Pacers on Thursday, they were taken to task by the Golden State Warriors just two days after that game. Fortunately for Milwaukee, Golden State is the best team in the cut-throat Western Conference and is having problems beating very few teams, so that loss was more acceptable for the Bucks.
Unfortunately for Milwaukee, their next game is against a team who’s also at the top of their conference, the Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks. If there’s good news for the Bucks, it’s that Atlanta also was recently soundly defeated by the Warriors, so at least they’re beatable.
Milwaukee may not be able to leapfrog the Washington Wizards and move into that fifth seed but the team still has to win games in this last stretch of the season to avoid losing their seed. I wouldn’t call this game a must-win, but when there’s only a handful of games left each one is increasingly important.
