The Milwaukee Bucks have a problem. Their roster is full (although a couple of players do have team options the Bucks can just decline. We’ll get there), and they possess two draft picks (including an interesting 17th overall) and would most likely want to have space on the roster to at least go after a few free agents. This means that some players have got to go.

More from Bucks News

I’ve selected five Bucks that I feel will not be back with the team next season. I looked at their ability, cost, and opportunity cost by asking the following questions:

1. Will this player still be productive in a few years, when the Bucks will be looking to contend for a title?

2. Will this player’s salary prevent Milwaukee from re-signing Khris Middleton or adding other players in free agency, either this season or down the line?

3. Could this player’s roster spot be better used on a different available player?

I’ll go through the five Bucks I don’t see returning to Milwaukee next year and answer those three questions for each of them, and also try to figure out exactly how they’ll be departing the Bucks. As always with pieces like this, these are just my slightly educated guesses. Let me know if you agree or disagree with my calls in the comments section, and let’s get this show on the road!
