Adam McGee: What’s the feeling among Sixers fans with the recent changes adding in Jerry Colangelo and Mike D’Antoni? Is there greater optimism or more confusion?

Josh Wilson: Both have definitely brought some confusion, but that’s because as fans, we often act a bit irrationally and form opinions a bit quicker than we should. With the Colangelo hiring, fans immedealey jumped to: “Oh no, Sam Hinkie’s plan is toast, we tanked all these years for nothing!” But as we listen a bit more to Colangelo and what he has to say, it seems he’s open to tanking, and really is bringing in more connections.

Those connections were shown right away with the D’Antoni hire, who is going to be an extra set of eyes for head coach Brett Brown. Brown can’t catch everything, and I’m a strong believer in the idea that a head coach can only be as good as his assistants. Having D’Antoni as an associate coach sets the bar very high for the team.
