That’s your 2015-16 Milwaukee Bucks in a nutshell, folks. One night after committing the second fewest turnovers of any NBA team this season (5), they commit the fourth most (27), while falling to the Washington Wizards 106-101.

One of the major things that Joe Prunty wants from his young team in the second half of the season is consistency. Sometimes the Bucks look like one the NBA’s better teams–as seen in their 31-15 third quarter. Other times they look like a drunken frat boy playing darts–committing twelve turnovers in the fourth quarter.

Despite the disappointing result the Bucks got big results from three of their most important players.

Khris Middleton led the way with 25 points on 9-17 shooting, Jabari Parker scored 22 on 9-13, and Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 19 points (13 in the third quarter), 11 rebounds, and six assists.

More from Bucks News

It was Jabari Parker’s first game of the season scoring twenty or more. He missed both of his jumpers, but was nearly unstoppable in the lane–hitting 9-11 shots in the painted area. He made the usual assortment of quality cuts and opportunistic layups, but also confidently called his own number in isolation sets leading to high percentage shots. He struggled defensively, but hell, what do you expect?

What’s important, right now, is that he shows the potential of being a game-breaking offensive threat.

Check.

Take solace, Bucks fans. Though the result of Wednesday’s game pushes the Bucks one game farther from the playoff picture, it also brings them one game closer to the draft lottery.

The Bucks are consistently getting big games from their most important players. They just can’t put together how to win. Imagine that potential complimented by a top seven pick, with the added experience from this season’s relative failure.

It’s clear that winning shouldn’t be the Buck’s main objective right now.

Developing their young talent is.

So while the Bucks dropped yet another road game, a game in which they looked wildly uneven, they still got strong performances from their young core.

With that in mind we have your Milwaukee Bucks grades and reactions from their tough road loss to the Washington Wizards.
