It’s hard to predict exactly what you’re going to get from the Milwaukee Bucks on a nightly basis, and in large part that’s due to the talent they have as individuals.

On any given night any one of the Bucks starting five can come up with a big game, yet it’s the lack of consistency from that group as a whole that often stings the most. Luckily for Milwaukee on Friday night, they found themselves on the positive side of a couple of those big individual performances in their game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Unsurprisingly, Khris Middleton remains the most consistent Buck, and he put up 26 points on this occasion. It was Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has at times looked bereft of confidence lately, who was the real difference maker on this occasion. The Greek Freak chipped in with 28 points and 16 rebounds that proved decisive.

Much like can be said for the Chicago Bulls, the Atlanta Hawks will likely be one of the main challengers in the East by the time the regular season has wound down, and yet the Bucks have now beaten both of those teams within the span of three games.

The Bucks may be dysfunctional, but the signs of potential are still there.

Going without the veteran influences of Jerryd Bayless and O.J. Mayo on this occasion, the young players who are going to represent Milwaukee’s future pulled through unfazed against a team who were last year’s Conference finalists. That sort of thing is a lot of fun against the backdrop of a season which has not gone to plan.

Let’s look at the action a little bit closer with some grades and analysis from a welcome Bucks victory.
