As if to try to forget most of what’s gone before, the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Washington Wizards for their second straight win and positive momentum heading into the break.

The controversy created by Jason Kidd‘s decision to bench two of his starters had mostly subsided thanks to the Milwaukee Bucks win over the Boston Celtics in their previous outing, so it was business as usual on Thursday night.

Michael Carter-Williams and Greg Monroe would start off the bench once again as the Bucks looked to enter the All-Star break with some positives to cling on to.

In that regard the Washington Wizards were the perfect opponent. The Wizards have arguably been even more disappointing than the Bucks this year, yet in spite of previous success against Milwaukee this season, the consensus was that neither team was good enough for this game to be anything but close.

Where Tuesday’s win came under bizarre circumstances from start to finish, Thursday was a little bit more controlled. The Bucks started slow, missing simple layups and allowing Washington open three-pointers, but from the second quarter onwards they were consistently the better team.

Big performances from the likes of Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker is what’s truly important for the Bucks, but when they manage to do that, and help to elevate their team to a win it’s even better again.

The Bucks will now get some time off to relax and hopefully build on the positives that they’ve sewn over the last two games, and who knows by the time they come back, the trade deadline could give the team a very different look anyway.

In the meantime, let’s take a closer look at the Milwaukee Bucks grades and reactions from Thursday’s win.
