Milwaukee Bucks Player of the Week (Feb. 21st – Feb. 27th)
Week 18 of the NBA season saw the Milwaukee Bucks win only one of their three games. Four Bucks played particularly well amongst the losing but only three can make the player of the week rankings.
The Milwaukee Bucks were predictable this week. They beat who they were supposed to beat and lost to who they were supposed to lose to. The first game of the week matched Milwaukee up with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Bucks took care of business and earned a victory. The rest of the week was not as positive. They lost to both the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons.
Another week closer to the season’s end and the Bucks have once again failed to make up ground in the playoff race. The Bucks seem destined for the NBA draft lottery. With that being the case it is nice to see the players still fighting out on the court and trying to do what they can to win games. Make no mistake, this is not some tank job.
The biggest positive that this season’s losing provides is time for the young Bucks, Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo specifically, to have more opportunities to take control in games and have the ball in their hands. Not only have they been getting opportunities but they have been performing well.

An indication of their great play was last week’s Milwaukee Bucks player of the week rankings. Jabari took the top spot, his only time doing so this season, and Giannis claimed the second spot. Both players were instrumental to the team’s success last week. The Bucks organization and it’s fan base want to see that continue.
In constructing the player of the week rankings for this week I was challenged to pick three Bucks out of a group of four high-performers. As is often the case, one or two guys gets left off the rankings because there are just too many worthy candidates. This week is no exception to that.
Like usual, I dove into the stats and the games themselves to try to accurately choose the top three players of the week. Let’s see what I came up with!
