Giannis Antetokounmpo notched his third triple-double in two weeks, but it wasn’t enough to lift the Milwaukee Bucks over the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 104-96 loss.

Don’t be deceived by the final score. The Milwaukee Bucks were outclassed top-to-bottom by one of the NBA’s best teams.

Sure Giannis Antetokounmpo notched his third triple-double in two weeks. That’s great, truly.

So is Jabari Parker scoring over 20 points again (his fifth such game since the All-Star break). He finished with 26 on 12-23 shooting.

You can even live with only 18 from Middleton, who struggled from the field shooting just 6-19, but was key in bringing the Bucks within two points in the fourth quarter.

The big three aren’t the problem.

The rest of the team is.

Outside of the big three the Bucks got just 26 total points from the rest of the team with 12 of those points belonging to Jerryd Bayless and nine to Greg Monroe.

Until the Bucks are able to fix their paper-thin bench, they are going be a step below the NBA’s best.

Their lack of depth was clear in the fourth quarter when an 0-12 FG stretch from their gassed players sunk any chance the Bucks had of winning.

So for as exciting as Giannis triple-doubles and Jabari Parker surging are–none of that matters unless the Bucks turn that progress into victories.
