There’s no doubt about the headlines, but what were the key takeaways as the Milwaukee Bucks picked up a dramatic win against the New York Knicks?

It’s a pretty special time to be a Milwaukee Bucks fan.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the cover of Sports Illustrated, he’s making game-winners at Madison Square Garden and he’s locked in to a contract in Milwaukee for at least four more seasons after this one.

On top of that, as a team, the Bucks seem to be figuring a lot out. Sure, many of the old issues remain, but at the very least Wednesday’s win against New York indicates some of the Bucks’ mental frailties are a thing of the past.

More from Bucks News

Having seen off teams led by stars such as Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony for two straight nail-biting wins, the Bucks are showing a more assured closing ability than this group has ever previously seemed capable of.

Even better than that, against the Knicks on a night where they struggled significantly, the Bucks showed heart and fortitude to hang around, keep fighting and ultimately snatch a memorable win. A win over a bad Knicks team, sure? But don’t minimize its significance to the quality of the opponent.

Let’s dive deeper into Wednesday’s win and the aftermath in order to see what we should be focusing on moving forward.
