Milwaukee’s Outlook With Collison
Darren Collison would make the Bucks better. He’s added three wins to the Kings per wins added, whereas Delly has added one to the Bucks. That’s not a perfect statistic, but it’s also not the only one where Collison has an advantage over Delly.

Collison has been better in offensive rating, value over replacement player, wins added on both offense and defense, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, points per 36 minutes and they’re tied in defensive rating.
Expiring deals are sometimes viewed as a negative, but this one might work out for the Bucks. Milwaukee wouldn’t be married to Collison if he didn’t end up fitting in, and he could be jettisoned after the season at no cost.
The cost involved in obtaining Collison is not insignificant, however. A first round pick is a lot to ask for an expiring contract. The Bucks 2017 first rounder shouldn’t be included unless it’s lottery-protected.
Milwaukee is not a lock for the playoffs this season, so adding a rental point guard, missing the playoffs and not having a first round draft pick is a worst-case scenario. If there are ample protections on a pick, Collison might be worthwhile.

Otherwise, though, there’s just too much risk that the Bucks are overpaying for 27 games of Darren Collison. As expected, the Milwaukee Bucks trade rumors are starting to heat up. It will be interesting to see what John Hammond does, even if Collison isn’t involved.
