No Aerial Attack

The Bucks failed to take or make many threes against Utah. Milwaukee attempted just 18 triples, and made only seven of those attempts as a team. No NBA team averages less than 20 attempted threes per game this season, and only the putrid Chicago Bulls average less than seven makes.

More from Behind the Buck Pass

It’s very hard to win in the NBA without either a very stout defense or an aerial assault on offense. The Bucks clearly don’t have the stout defense, considering the team allowed Utah to post 36 points in the first 12 minutes of play.

They didn’t have the second thing on Friday either. Milwaukee’s leading shooters were Jason Terry and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who both made two of four threes. At least one of Jet’s triples came in garbage time, while Giannis’ were a result of one man desperately trying to keep his team within striking distance.

The Bucks finally have shooters, and now they need them to shoot. It didn’t help that Mirza Teletovic caught another DNP-Coach’s Decision on Friday, but the Bucks need to let more threes go to keep up with opposing offenses.
