Delly In Command

Tasked with more than his usual duties in Malcolm Brogdon’s absence, Matthew Dellavedova had one of his better games as a Buck on Saturday.

He tried to do a little too much at times, getting emphatically rejected by Towns and Gorgui Dieng a handful of times, but he thrived when settled into his role.

Delly ended up with 16 points, making just one-of-his-five shots inside the arc but hitting four-of-his-seven three-point attempts, including two big ones in the second quarter.

One rebound and two assists aren’t too much to get excited about, but it’s clear he was able to help out his teammates on the court, finishing a game-high plus-15.

Delly did allow Minnesota point guard Ricky Rubio to get loose for an uncharacteristically high 22 points, but chances are that strategy was a part of Milwaukee’s game plan.

Rather than let the more potent weapons of the Wolves to hurt them, the Bucks looked happy letting Rubio take open jump shots – it just so happens he made a large percentage of them.

The starting job is still Brogdon’s to lose once he comes back, but the Bucks will need both of their point guards clicking if they hope to make some noise in April.
