Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways From Win Over Los Angeles Lakers
By Ti Windisch
The Milwaukee Bucks held onto the seventh seed in the East by holding on against the young Los Angeles Lakers in L.A. on Friday night.
Decades from now, Milwaukee Bucks scholars will look back at this game the team had against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017 and talk about how remarkable it was for a few different reasons.
Okay, maybe not. There was one insane moment, but aside from that this was a pretty typical case of the Bucks nearly blowing a huge lead against a team that decided to sit two veteran players for the rest of the season to play the young guys more, aka to tank.

The Lakers are smart to take this approach. If their first round pick falls outside of the top three this season, the Philadelphia 76ers get it. In addition, they’d have to give up their 2019 first round pick to the Orlando Magic if they lose one this year. If they keep their pick this season, Orlando gets second-rounders instead because of how the protection is set up.
Still, even if the organization is trying to lose, the players certainly aren’t. D’Angelo Russell, Ivica Zubac and Nick Young were balling out on Friday, and only Young was selfishly chasing the Lakers single-season three-pointers made record.
To recap the action, we’ll look at four big takeaways from the game, starting with the scuffle in the third quarter.
