The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t dominate the Detroit Pistons, but they did outlast them in another huge win down the stretch of the regular season.
The Milwaukee Bucks are such a tease sometimes. At one point in the first quarter of their game on Friday night, the Bucks led the Detroit Pistons 22-4. The game seemed like it was over before it really began.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Thanks to an unseasonably bad performance by the Bucks bench, Detroit bounced back and actually took a lead for the first time all game in the third quarter. The Pistons would hold that lead for almost all of the fourth quarter.

It seemed like the Bucks were doomed. Detroit stole all the momentum and was in control of the game, and it didn’t seem like there was much that Milwaukee could do. Until a few Bucks snapped out of it and simply took over.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was certainly a big part of the effort. No Buck had more points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks than Giannis did on Friday, meaning he either led or was tied for the lead in each of the five main statistics. That’s freakish.
To see how Giannis and the Bucks managed to hold off Detroit and add another huge win to their tally as the postseason approaches, we’ll go through some takeaways from the action on Friday night, including a career night from everybody’s other favorite rookie.
