Player To Watch: Paul George

As tempting as it was to put Lance Stephenson as the player to watch in Indiana, that honor has to go to Paul George. PG-13 hasn’t been great against the Bucks this season, but he displayed just how good he can be in Indiana’s recent game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

More from Behind the Buck Pass

The Cavs won that game in double overtime thanks to a legendary LeBron performance, but George was pretty damn great himself. He posted 43 points, nine assists, nine rebounds, three steals and a block in 48 minutes played against Cleveland.

On the season George hasn’t been quite that good, but he’s hardly been bad either. Per game averages of 23.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals in 35.8 minutes were enough to get PG-13 to his fourth All-Star game, although he did play behind Giannis in New Orleans.

Right now, as unfortunate for him as it is, Paul George is losing ground in the list of top forwards in the Eastern Conference. Formerly behind only LeBron, now Giannis has put himself ahead of PG-13 as well this season. Let’s see if that bears out again in the box score from Thursday’s action.
