Without Lots Of Foul Shots

As unbelievable as it sounds, there’s actually an area in which Giannis could improve his game. The Greek Freak hasn’t gotten to the foul line much at all this postseason, which is very unlike how the regular season went.

More from Behind the Buck Pass

Giannis drew a career-best 7.7 foul shots per game in the 2016-17 regular season, and made a career-best 77.0 percent of those free throws. That’s nearly six points per game Antetokounmpo added to his total purely from the foul line.

Through three games against Toronto, Giannis has added just ten total points through free throws. He’s gotten 20 trips to the line, slightly less per game than he did in the regular season, and Giannis’ free throw percentage has plummeted down to 50 percent in the postseason.

Even if it’s tough to get to the line in the playoffs when referees tend to swallow their whistles more often, Giannis needs to start capitalizing on the times he does get to the charity stripe. Knowing Antetokounmpo, he’s probably working on that in his off days between series.

Believe it or not, there is room for improvement for Giannis Antetokounmpo in the 2017 NBA Playoffs. The Milwaukee Bucks are doing fine even with Giannis missing free throws, but if he can get to the line more and make more of those foul shots Milwaukee will be in even better shape.
