Jabari Parker entered the 2016-17 campaign filled with hope as he looked to build upon his sophomore year, but with injury having stopped him in his tracks again, Milwaukee Bucks fans are left to ask what they’ve learned about the talented forward.

The year began with a number of free agent signings, as the likes of Matthew Dellavedova and Mirza Teletovic brought shooting and veteran leadership to a young roster anchored by the pillars of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker. The Own the Future slogan never felt so apt for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Then as the team entered training camp, Khris Middleton went down with a torn hamstring and suddenly a key piece of the puzzle was missing. Little did we know, but that wouldn’t be the last time either.

What we did get to see through 51 games of the season is just how explosive of a scorer Jabari Parker is for this Bucks team.

Multiple areas shone bright in Jabari’s offensive game, including an improved three-point touch to what was already a strong mid-range jumper, and the strong drive and violent finish that the Bradley Center has become so accustomed to cheering.

The season was ultimately cut short for Jabari, though, as a second ACL injury in three years meant his team had to go on without him for a valiant playoff run at less than full strength. Sadly, that’ll remain the case until he returns to the court at some point in 2018.

While the injury leaves something of a dark cloud over an otherwise impressive season, there were still plenty of positives from Parker in the time he was healthy enough to suit up.

Let’s take a look at what exactly we were able to see from Jabari in the 2016-2017 season.
