Summer Focus and Final Grade

Before anything else, Beasley has to make sure he gets healthy. In his first game back from his knee injury, it was obvious he wasn’t 100 percent or all that close to it. Beas might not have gotten there in the rest of the Bucks season or postseason run.

More from Behind the Buck Pass

Like virtually every NBA player, three-point shooting should make up a lot of Michael Beasley’s focus for the summer. His offensive game is already devastating at times–adding a more consistent threat from outside would really make Beas scary on that end.

Otherwise, watching more film couldn’t hurt either. Beasley has the physical tools to be a really effective defender, and learning more about other teams tendencies on offense and what worked and didn’t work for him this season could help Beasley become a more passable defender.

The biggest summer focus for Beas should be getting a multi-year contract, honestly. He was very good in his Bucks minutes, especially compared to the low expectations he had coming in. Even if it comes from a team outside Milwaukee, Beasley should jump at guaranteed money after his roller coaster of a career thus far.

There is certainly reason to think the Bucks would want Beasley back, by the way. He certainly added more than Tyler Ennis would have to the Bucks, even considering at times Milwaukee needed a point guard.

There’s a chance he ends up leaving for greener pastures (and contract amounts), but Michael Beasley was a pleasant surprise for the Milwaukee Bucks this season.
