Milwaukee Bucks 2016-17 Season Review: Khris Middleton

The Worst of Middleton
I’ve been typing “in the regular season” a lot. That’s because to focus on the good parts of Khris Middleton’s 2016-17 season, it’s imperative to look more at the regular season than the postseason, when Middleton clearly had run out of gas by the time the playoffs rolled around.

Due to some combination of him being sick during the series against Toronto and simply not being ready for the physicality of a playoff series after starting his season so late, Middleton was noticeably gassed when the Bucks needed him most.
Middleton scored just 13.6 points per game in the postseason, on 39.7 percent field goal shooting and 36.8 percent three-point shooting. He still mustered a good game in Game 6, but it was too little, too late after a pair of stinkers in Games 4 and 5.
To be clear, this probably was not Middleton’s fault. Injuries suck, and his clearly piled on him in the playoffs. But to give an honest assessment of Khris Middleton’s season, it’s tough to ignore the ending of it.
